I believe all dogs should be trained using kind, fair and effective methods. I don’t use punishment such as dominance, water bottles or harmful leash jerks; there’s no need for these outdated methods. Your dog should do as you ask because you are kind and fair, not because he is frightened of you.
Remember that teacher at school who used to scare the living daylights out of you? Do you remember much about what you learned in their lessons? Your dog won’t learn a thing if he’s stressed because you’re using punishing methods to train him. I will help you bond with your best friend by showing you the kinder way to train.
To make things more realistic I hold my training classes outdoors. This gives you the chance to learn how to cope with everyday life situations such as that bike that goes past, that game of football being played on your usual walk, or that pesky rabbit that jumps out of seemingly nowhere and scuppers your near perfect recall. We start off in an area with few distractions and then work up to a Saturday morning market.
I run my classes in Wimbish and they are small and controlled so no one is left out. For those who can’t make classes, feel they have the basics and just want a little extra help or whose dogs find classes too stressful, I also offer one to one training sessions.
